Started in 1995 and specialising in supplying computerised and generic lighting systems for a wide variety of functions from corporate launches, outside advertising on buildings to dance/ rave parties. Here is a selection of some of our more prominent functions. All these functions have been designed, programmed and operated by Steve.

BMW South Africa Dealer Dinner
July 2005

This dinner at the BMW Pavilion included a dance show with various comedians and theme from the Moulin Rouge. A scarf act entertained guests on arrival with extra effects including the new LED Red Carpet as well as uplighters on all banquet tables.
BMW 3 Series Launch

The Miller Competition Final

A wild party held at BMW Pavilion with a theme of Las Vegas and Hollywood and attended by invitation only. Spectacular lighting captivated the crowds until the early hours of the morning.
Cape Town Fashion Week 2004 "click for more pictures"
Held at the CTICC in two venues over 5 days for the second year. Working together with Gearhouse and Leisureworx, Steve Olivier was appointed as Technical Production Manager. Martin Myers and John Poulter from Triple M Music mixed music for all shows live on-site.

A stylish launch held at the Auto Atlantic dealership at the V&A Waterfront, a simple but effective show including AV, sound lighting elements. Music supplied by Sam Roy.
SHOSHOLOZA MEYL TRAIN LAUNCH

As the guests and digniteries arrived for the Spoornet launch at St James Station, False Bay, the city council plunged the local streets into complete darkness. Guests watched the laser show from Boyes Drive some 1km away as the 500m of beach and surf changed colour from power wash lights. The show ended in the reveal of the train in 80 000 watts of white light. Therefater guests were bussed down to dinner on the beach.

An international conference with 80 delegates.Each country represented had an expo stand in adjoining venue. Steve’s responsibilities included all venue set ups, all conference running schedules, all excursion activities and delegate security as well as all transport which included 4 BMW’s and 15 microbuses over a 7 day period.

CANGO CAVES NEW VISITORS COMPLEX LAUNCH:

This was a spectacular chance to be really creative. He created a theme that represented technology amalgamating with the ancient formations of the caves, from the time that they were formed, through the african history until the present. The music he chose for the show complimented the history stages. The laser imitated falling rain, as water sculpted the caves and later traced sketches of Bushmen Art. This 22 minute show took 5 nights to program and was viewed by invited Parliamentarians and senior Governmental officials.
GRAND WEST OPENING DESIGNER COLLECTIONS:

This large fashion show with 22 designers ran over 3 days with 5 shows at the Market venue at the casino. A shick show that required careful programming with many moody colour effects and deep hues. Designed and programmed by Steve Olivier with lighting equipment supplied by Sound on Stage
NEDERBURG AUCTION FASHION SHOW 2001:

A show with 21 scenes held in the BMW service workshop. A unique venue for a show allowing for some extra creativity. A joint venture between Nederburg and BMW that supports the Organ Donor Foundation.

The theme that we proposed for this function was a “Venetian Mardi-Gras”. A huge success and a difficult act to follow. We have it on good authority that it was voted as the best ever marquee in the history of this event!

This annual prestigious event is broadcast live to the Republic of Namibia from the casino resort. Sound feeds are integrated with OB vans and lighting has to be of the highest standard due to TV broadcast.

This annual show for the third year design graduates is a showcase for the design department. Set and ramp are kept simple in white and  lighting is also in simple white.

A unique experience to have designed, programmed and operated  the lighting for well over 50 of Cape Town’s biggest dance and rave events in the real peak of the rave era.

The events organisers were:
Pharcyde, Vortex and Mother doing gigs like Return to the Pharcyde, Winter Wonderland, Rave Nation I, II & III, Dance Opera, working with the big names like Carl Cox, Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Alister Whitehead, Dave Seaman, Paul van Dyk. They also brought out the biggest  UK club outfits to come to SA like Cream, Trade and Renaissance.

The biggest dance event in Africa, is the New Years Eve Synergy, which attracts over 15 thousand people every year. Steve was involved in the first five years of this event, programming the main floor and the trance floor every year. He has programmed and been involved in the lighting for all four visits to SA by Carl Cox. The Peter Stuyvesant Global Synergy broke all boundaries having over 30 moving mirrors and yokes lighting fixtures on a dance floor for 700 people only.
